Thursday 17th September

Sorry it’s been a while since I last up-dated you all but I have some fantastic news!!! I'm allowed to live permanently with my foster mum and dad!! It is so exciting! Apparently they decided they couldn't bear to let me go and so its been decided that I can stay forever!!

It also appears there has been good news about the last tests they did...They took a couple of the lumpy bits from my skin and thankfully they were what the nurses call ‘benign cysts' but I think that’s their technical term for beauty spots. I’d grown quite attached to them but apparently it’s not affected my beautiful looks in any way because everyone still seems to love me as much as they did before.

I’ve been for lots of lovely walks with my doggy friends and have now been let off my lead. At first I was only allowed to run between my foster mummy and daddy who kept giving me treats every time I did so. Once they got it into their heads that there was no way I was going to run off and leave them...how could I after how they’ve looked after me I don't want to let them out of my sight! They could easily end up getting lost and then where would I be? So I make sure I keep by their side with the occasional sniff along the way to see who else has been walking around. I’ve met a few dogs who live in the village and they all seem ok to me. I could get to like it here.

I have a special friend at home a little dachshund called Sam who is almost the same colour as me. He likes to snuggle up with me and licks me all over which makes me feel all gooey inside. I have to watch when we’re playing in the garden though ‘cos he runs between my legs and hides underneath me. But I’m careful not to tread on him as he’s my best buddy.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who has donated money to help care for me... everyone at Wood Green is asbolutely amazed at the response my story has had!!

Bye for now

Wednesday 2nd September

Hi Everyone!

Great news...when I went on my walk again the stick that I left behind was there waiting for me so I was allowed to carry it again, carefully of course, so that I did not hurt myself. However I left it by the side of the path again and the next day it had gone! If I ever find out who took it I’ll have a quiet word with them. Perhaps because I’m so famous they thought they would keep it in case it might be valuable later!!!

Yesterday I had to see the nice vets again and they gave me an injection which made me go a bit sleepy. Apparently they then took some urine from me to send away to be checked just to make sure the infection I came in with has now cleared completely. I feel so much better so lets hope they don’t find anything.

Everyone now seems surprised when they see me and remark on how much my hair is growing it feels so much softer too. And there are two nice girls who take me for a special bath twice a week which I don’t like too much but I get my own back when I shake and cover them with water. It does make us all laugh!

I’ve been playing around in the field with tennis balls and have trained everyone to throw them for me and then I decide whether I take them back or not. I usually do because if not they don’t throw them for me again and that isn't a lot of fun. I feel so much stronger now and they say that I’m getting better day by day. I’m starting to have fun now something I can’t remember for a long time.

Everyone is being so kind to me and the nice people in the Shelter restaurant save me their leftover beef and chicken (and sometimes turkey) which I love!...but I do share it with my doggy family, otherwise they would not share their comfy beds with me!

I'll speak to you soon!

Monday 24th August

Since I last wrote on this blog my new family have been very sad…. One of my new doggy friends who curled up with every night has passed away. We all miss her even though she spent most of the time asleep in her bed....But I have given everyone lots of hugs and kisses to let them know I want them to be happy again.

I have been seen by the lovely vet once again and she seems very happy with my progress. She says she can see hair beginning to grow and it appears that the infection I had in my bladder may have cleared up. I do have to have another test later this week just to make sure though.

I’m feeling much better in myself and everyone says I’ve become a bit of a ‘show-off’.

There are some lovely fields near to where I am staying and I found a fabulous stick last time we were out… it was very long and I could hardly carry it.... my new mummy tried to take it from me– I wasn’t going to let it go, I’d only just found it (apparently sticks aren't very good for me as I might trip over and hurt myself). She did agreed eventually that as long as I stayed on lead and didn’t run with it I could carry it with me for a little while. Sadly she did make me leave it at the end of the path when we left and I just hope (for her sake) that it’s there when we go back.

Thank you again for all of the lovely messages I have been sent and also for the donations that still continue to come in to help with the cost of my treatment.

Wednesday 12th August

Hi,

Well this week has been a lot quieter for me than the last few so far! I have only had to pose for one camera which I think I’m becoming quite good at.

I’ve been spending lots of time with my foster family which has been great fun and I have been on some lovely walks with people still stopping to say hello to me.

We did have some fun when the humans went out for a short while at the weekend. We decided to check out what was in the bins… however they didn’t seem very happy when they got home and found it all over the floor (whoops!!!).

I’ve been to see the lovely vets again and I’m still improving apparently… I’m certainly feeling so much better!! I still have to take some tablets everyday which don’t taste very nice but if they make me feel good then I guess they can’t be that bad.

If you see me on one of my walks at the Shelter please make sure you stop to say hello!

Friday 7th August

Hi!

Well its been such an exciting week for me, what with moving into a new home with my foster family and their six dogs and also having more cameras taking photos of me.
I’ve also been back to see the lovely vet who tells me that I am still doing really well, but I will need to keep taking the special tablets for my skin.

I have been going out for lots of lovely walks with the other dogs I’m living with which has been great fun. I’m also meeting lots of lovely people, especially when people want to know why I’m wearing this funny t-shirt!

I’m told I’ll be wearing my t-shirt most of the time this weekend as its going to be nice and warm, which will certainly make change from all the rain… this t-shirt thing feels very funny when it gets wet.

Hopefully I’ll have some more tales for you after the weekend.

Wednesday 5th August

Hi, I just thought I’d tell you about my exciting day yesterday! My lovely carer took me back to Wood Green to visit everyone and I was extremely excited about all of the people who wanted to talk to me.

I was quite scared when people tried to touch me, but they were all saying how much I had improved and I couldn’t stop wagging my tail. I’m still not sure what to make of all the attention I seem to be getting, but I’m feeling better and better everyday, which is great. I think I have to go back to see the special nurses soon to have another check up and some more tests to make sure I continue to get better.
I had a very special job to do yesterday - I was filmed by a lady who was talking about all of the great work that Wood Green does… I had to wear my special t-shirt which apparently I look ‘very cute’ in!

It was lovely to see everyone and my carer was proudly showing me off to everyone and telling them what a good boy I have been at her house.

Speak to you soon!
